Of course opponent on top if executed badly with either technique. Chances are much better with double leg. Sprawl is not a cure all obviously. It works on reaction. You can’t sprawl if you’re already falling.
I get the move(s),in theory. I’m thinking that before we ever hit the mat, I’ve got at least a leg laced. It would be interesting to see how these would play out in a real setting. I enjoy your emails. Please keep em coming

I don’t like it. Opponent on top.
I like double leg.
Opponent not on top after sweep. Double leg, sprawl, opponent on top.

Sensational. I actually taught this last night. The sumi gaeshi, corner throw is a great technique. cheers and thank you for the reminder.

I used to do that move at judo years ago. It was effective, but a bit risky.
Even a Caveman could do it.
Great! Question: What do I do next in that mount position to gain total control, or at least prevent myself from being thrown off that mount?
Very good. But the knife wheeling man is going to cut my up not so?
I don’t think your first instinct in a knife fight would ever be, “go for the judo throw” lol
