I’m a grandpa, had a few fights in my days but don’t plan on any soon, to old. LOL. Anyway was looking to find something to get my Grandsons, and Granddaughters too, into some basic moves. Just bought your basic package. Hope the kids can learn easier than I did. I asked my older at about age 12, teach me to fight. He said okay and we stepped out into the front yard. I stood with my hands on my hips. He said are you ready to learn to fight? I said yes. He kicked me in the balls, Hard! I crawled into the house into the bathroom and locked the door. Laying on the bathroom floor trying to catch my breath he knocked on the door. He said rule number 1 get the first punch in. Rule number 2 make it count, rule number three don’t stop punching or kicking until the person is out. I advised him I understood. Laid there a long time hurting but never forgot the words. Later he taught me some moves, holds and such, but the most valuable of those lessons was my first one. So when I saw I could learn your moves without getting my balls kicked in, your price seemed pretty fair. Looking forward to the books and videos. Thanks, Tom
Love how he pulled him up by shoulders straight into neck hold, but how sweet was foot hold added in, damn his quad must of been burning, reminded me of japanese chef making noodles pure gold.
Thanks it was good. I have a black belt in Hapkido and tarekwondo and brown beltin Wado ruins. Since my stroke I can’t kick any more. So I am very careful with technique which are useable. These are usable not fake. You have done your homework Rainer
The problem with aikido is that it requires that your opponent to make very specific moves in order for it to be effective. They must react as you expect in most cases for you to redirect them. One of the things I’ve learned is that an opponent will rarely do anything you expect. They will make erratic, surprising moves and launch bizarre attacks that work because you’re not expecting them. Which is why here, you are taught to act decisively and rapidly, giving your opponent very little time to react or analyze your behavior before they are incapacitated or rendered unable to attack. Trav knows what’s up.
I love your approach to combat. Too much nonsense has been sold to the public, much of which I have unwittingly purchased or believed myself. I’m a 55-year-old man and not in the best shape, but even if I learn just one “golden nugget” that I can actually use in combat, I will be thrilled with your program. Finally, you are the someone that sees what I have seen for years but I just didn’t have the ability or the time to separate the truth from the fiction. Be well and stay true to your original intent. Joe
