I taught this move to Ray Chapman at the Chapman Academy WAY back in the late ’70s early 80s. That afternoon the course had groin height targets to kick, then, we stepped back, drew and shot two to center mass. I was impressed with Ray’s ability to incorporate new ideas into our training regimen.

Honestly it would be better with a jab feint to start and make that slide back angle to the right a bit. Other than that I agree.
