Yes. So true. And so many martial artists have a blind spot when it comes to using a firearm for self defense.
But I believe you live in NJ where <0.01% have a concealed carry permit, right? That complicates things for those who are in states like that (HI, CA, etc)
Hi Trav – love your videos – The CQC – Close Quarter Combat training I have done prefer the kicks to be low -mainly to the knee area – front kicks can be easy to catch -and your centre of gravity is raised- so maybe lower your front kicks?
Keep up the good work mate.

When i have a pistol, i want to be kicking the largest target on the guy’s body. If i was weaponless vs a knife, i would agree with you and also send the kicks low!
Great stuff, brother. I’ve been practicing that same drill for a while now that age, disability, a prosthetic, and the realities of street combat have caught up with me. I’ve read every email that you have sent out for the last 5 years now, and I’m a big fan. I dig you humor, and we have a lot of similarities in our training background, so you have my respect for actually taking it to the octagon. That remains one of my biggest would-u-should-u’s.
Out of curiosity, what brand of holsters do you use for CCW? give you kudos and respect for doing what you do. God bless you and your family.

Like the front kick. Where I live I’m not allowed a nail clipper but can still run away after the kick. Or kick again. And again.

Excellent job emphasizing that the trigger finger should NOT be on the trigger until after the piston has been drawn!!
Australian version: slide back, grab your pointy rock and throw it at their face.
Great video Trav!
Excellent!
