boxing comeback — Julio Cesar Chavez vs. Meldrick Taylor.
Taylor had him beat, had won the fight, then got knocked down in the last 15 seconds (or so) of the 12th. After the 8 count, when he was still kinda shook, the ref called a halt to the fight with like 5 seconds left. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QlDLTjNCFJA
…and pretty much every win Darren “the Damage” Elkins ever had. This guy gets me out of my seat every fight…my favorite underdog. Here’s a great comeback against Michael Johnson, after being thoroughly outclassed for the entire first round.
I’ve watched this fight probably 20 times and the comeback never gets old. It’s also my go to anytime anyone wants to be introduced to king of the streets
Thank you, Trav. Wonderful prose, as always, looking forward to the release of your new program.

I don’t know whether you saw these particular matches, but you know which two I’ve thought of in the past?
1) These two nuts, Scott Smith and another guy who were really good friends but just absolutely beat the crap out of each other, including an extra-awful liver shot … that led to a comeback.
2) Chuck Liddell’s last fight (I think). After ten years of ridicule for nonexistent kicking and that little pot belly he always had, he shows up with 6-pack abs, kicks Rick Franklin so hard he breaks Rick’s arm when Rick blocks it … and gets KTFO mere seconds later! (KTFO means “Knocked the …”)
Three things:
1) Beware the Howdy Doody looking kid. A redheaded female will punch you in the face. A male… well then there’s the males.
b) Being inside means working angles (see Tyson) and head motion (see Trav). Rat-a-tat-tating the body might be one “tat” too many, (especially while standing directly in front of your opponent) and an open invitation for Howdy to introduce his elbow to your temple, eyebrow, nose, jaw. Choose one… Oh. And then there’s Howdys’ knees. At which point, well, you are in deep Doody. SWIDT
iii) In the ring, KO’s are impressive. But wins are what count. Ali was happy to cut you and work the cut and win by TKO. The strategy is–win. Tactics are the how. It appears the fight was won going into the last round. Gouzhen wanted a big finish. And he got it.
Absolutely Brilliant never give in never stop, a true testimony to rangas everywhere

TUF4 finale (Pete “Drago” Sell vs. Scott Smith) comes to mind as a great comeback…

A quick but impressive comeback indeed.

Not even close to “locomotora” Castro vs. Jackson.

Now that is discipline and โheartโ. He took a barrage, learnt the opponents weak points and unleashed. Very clinical in his execution. Well done.
๐๐ผ๐ฏ๐ช heโs definitely a warrior
