  1. Would this work if the guy in white provided any sort of resistance? Instead of just going along with it?

  2. Love this Trav! I really like takedowns like this that are designed to put you in an advantageous finishing position. Too many takedowns succeed in getting to the mat but putting you in poor position. To your email comments on double leg takedowns leading to getting caught in their guard, too many people take them straight forward. If you finish it to the side vs. driving forward, or better yet, pick them up off the ground, you can swap your hands to a “head-outside single” and put yourself in perfect side control. I used to use this in high school wrestling all the time to put people directly on their back from the air. Won a lot of matches that way, including ones I should not have!

  3. First of all, I know that is JJ Machado…. but Trav I don’t think one should do this in a *fight*. That’s absolutely a horrible idea. A real fight isn’t going to involve a Gi or strong clothing and its not going to be on a mat. It’s a great takedown in Gi jiujitsu I guess.

    • You ever wear a coat or a jacket, Alec? What about a dress shirt? Perhaps it would benefit you to practice moves that teach you to use whatever is available to you.
