Front kick plus 500 lumen tiny flashlight means you are covered and cops won’t accuse you of using a weapon. I carry one instead of a gun or knife. Much easier to explain. They can’t hurt you if they are blind and you can pick your attacks.
Hey, Trav. Great video. Very practical. Seeing a lot of comments on flashlights as a self-defense tool. Consider the Olight M2R Pro. It’s a little bigger than a fist, has a somewhat serrated bezel and can produce 1800 lumens. It runs for about $125. I have one. Very good flashlight. Alternatively, there’s also the combination taser flashlight. Consider the VIPERTEK VTS-195. It has 300 lumens. Don’t know of any taser/flashlight combination with more lumens.
The Vipertech one is the one that I have! I think it’s the 135 though, not sure. I’m pretty sure I linked the 195 elsewhere on the thread, since it’s the only Vipertek I could find on amazon. in fact, here it is again!
Hey, Fin. If you want a flashlight with a little more lumens, consider the Olight M2R Pro. It just a little bigger than a fist, has a somewhat serrated bezel and can produce 1800 lumens. It runs for about $125. I have one. Very good flashlight. Alternatively, you can get a combination taster and flashlight. Consider the VIPERTEK VTS-195. It has about 300 lumens.
You would have to incorporate switching the safety off into your quick draw process, which is obviously problematic. Most pistol guys believe that the best safety is a safe quickdraw process… (and following the general gun safety procedures that i didn’t even talk about). The other less-performance-based consensus is to just leave the chamber empty, and then rack your pistol upon draw… which still adds a step, but can be done very quickly.

More of these firearm-centric techniques!
Pussy
Wait till you are 65, Then maybe you’ll feel it !
The slower my feet get, the faster my draw gets 😉
This is great but i live in the uk so guns are not legal so would front kick just do?
Anything that you can use as a weapon or deterrent with a RELIABLE DRAW!

I got an email from Trav…I clicked. That’s what you do.
Good man.
Dude! Is it weird that this made my day?
*airhug with facemask*
Glad to see some firearm training in the mix!
Are you carrying the pistol with the safety ON or OFF? IF the safety is carried ON – how does that change your process?

Glock. No safety that requires an extra motion.
That’s how my daughter’s roll, if you have to point your gun at someone, play time is over.
That’s also true of some S&W pistols, as well…
practice drawing with your finger out and flicking the thumb safety off when your muzzle is facing forward. Few reps n it will be smooth n fast
Pretty good stuff!!!
Thanks again Trav, always helpful.
So wait- shoot, draw, kick? I’m so confused.
Yes. Me. Right in the face.
Good one
Trav for President!
