That guy is incredible! His record reminds me of Sugar Ray Robinson’s…174 wins/19 losses/6 draws/2 no contests. The guy had more KO’s than most regarded GOAT’s have fights (109)…and he fought practically everyone, during the sport’s heyday. Thanks for sharing this, Trav!

With that fight record you know he’s figured out ways to hurt you that you’ve never even thought of. Luckily for us mere mortals he’s willing to teach some of what’s in his bag of tricks.
What a cool technique! He applies the kick with that withdraw move programmed into it. And if he lands it, it’s still going to hurt. This seems akin to how my butokukan teacher used to train our strikes – don’t leave anything out there for your opponent to grab onto!
Nice. Adding it to repertoire – I guarantee not as slickly.
Here’s a thought/problem (to be overcome). If the back arm is down – observe how krav maga blocks round houses, for instance – then the technique is neutralised… Yeah it curves in, but the long, (usually back) arm blocks and is already capturing- giving better odds of keeping hold of that slippery snake. And then dumping them horribly on the ground after stomping the grounding leg joints etc
Always a counter for the counter. Martial arts circle of life, innit…
Easy as that! Just be better. Now to go make myself flexible enough to actually throw a roundhouse..
Thanks for the video Trav.
And once you get the roundhouse, then you have to get flexible enough to get it back.
It never ends man.
Wow

I tried this on Gram Gram & she spun out of it & knocked me down the stairs via spining backfist.
Gram’s a bad B.

This man is so accustomed to fighting, I wonder if it even makes him feel anything anymore.
He’s like Tom Cruise needing to jump off higher and higher buildings.
Without all that pesky Scientology clogging up his Thai greatness.
I was trying to hamhand a Scientology joke in there, but I couldn’t make it work in time.
Hope my anaconda knee brace is ready for action.
I can already feel my LCL tearing.

Exactly. That escape is already burned into his muscle memory. You ain’t catchin’ that leg!

Manse, I would like you to go to a Muay Thai gym and work whatever counter your are suggesting and report back please!
Basically an old Shuai Jiao technique just applied to a roundhouse. See here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cy3_bugUymI
very tricky.
