Proximal Stability = Distal Power

There are dozens of weaknesses in your body that may eventually add up to a lack of overall striking power, but instability in your spine is by far and away the greatest thief.  Your brain will not let you have power, until your spine is stable. The themes in this video will be carried to every joint in your body that is involved in striking power, as you do the supplementary work throughout the course.  

Prehabilitation

I know... everyone wants to skip right to the power punching and the fun stuff!  ...like horrible life altering injury!  No one is going to like this video... but it contains truths that I demand you face.  

In this course, I will be asking you to exceed your body's previous capacity for power.  Your risk for injury will be significant.  This video and the exercises within it will prepare your body for the work ahead.  Skip this, and you will probably get hurt.  

I believe that this is an early no-gi sparring session.  It's amazing how much the game has evolved since we began our testing.  

Core Work

As you just learned, a massive part of the power striking game involves spinal stability; without that stability, your brain will simply not allow you to generate the striking power that you're looking for.  This page has all of the core exercises that we will be doing, and the adaptations / progression that you will go through as your core gets stronger.  You should probably do a month of core work, before you even start this program.  I will demonstrate these exercises in the workouts ahead, but if you want to learn about each exercise in detail, this page is where you will do it.

I haven't watched this video since I made it, and since it's named 'Grip Sparring', I assume it contains some grip sparring.
