Well, I was out in the dojo today, ready to film a nice little brutal video tip, but my auto-focus is going cray-cray.
I have had to postpone this pursuit until next week, due to said technical difficulty. It's been a rough week.
In the mean time, I want to share a fighter with someone of the most unbelievable footwork and head-movement in the history of combat sports... it's crazy.
His name was Pernell "Sweet Pea" Whitaker, and this video is 10 straight minutes of absolutely ridiculous high-light reel fight footage, in which the guy is basically untouchable while hitting like a car accident.
The following highlight reel lengthens out his exchanges, and shows several slow motions of some pretty tight combinations... so you might pick up a thing-or-two by watching.
Otherwise, watch stuff like this all of the time and perhaps even pull up some of Pernell's full fights on YouTube.
1. What things did he make work 50 times per fight?
2. Are there any footwork patterns that he reproduces consistently, and what are they?
3. Just enjoy the beatings. Never forget to revel in the destruction and demise of our peers.
That is all...
I'll have a fresh new video for you guys next week!
