  1. Thanks for the great post Trav. Yes, Arturo Gatti was one of the toughest brawlers ever. He sure did take a lot of punches but kept coming. I love the way he threw that left hook to the body and that great shot to finish Rodriguez. And yes, the movie “The Fighter” did not capture the real drama of the great trilogy Gatti had with Mickey Ward. R.I.P. Arturo.

  2. Great content Travis, think I would rather just focus on not getting punched; your head movement course does a fine job with training for that 🙂

  3. Well this match was definitely brought forth the difference between having a lot of power and having a lot of heart. Thanks for the video.

  4. Thanks Trav. Have a good Thanks Giving. You’re an inspiration to kids, in your neighborhood, I’ll bet. Neither boxer, in this fight, ran a defensive game, so the lack of head movement cost Gatti some bandaids.

I’ve been focusing on the vulnerability created as most boxers throw a punch. I find it interesting that such a gift is presented at that moment, unless it’s fired during, or before a slip; that’s what Tyson used very well. He owed his trainer for his success, because every time he tried to change, the style, he lost.

    Happy hollidays, Trav.
