Nah, that’s not a traditional axe-kick. 1.Straightening the leg and swinging down is putting all the force on your knee (not good). 2. There is no power behind the kick just momentum using the small little hip flexor muscle .Traditional axe is kick is with a bend leg , driving the leg down using the power of the much larger quad/hamstring muscles. It doesnt need to be high , if you bring that puppy down on another guy;s hamstring he will not walk for a long time. Just my 2 cents. 🙂 Thanks for all the great stuff!!
