This is incredibly simple and clever. You’re making them move because a) you’re dropping b) off to the side so that even if they wanted to step to the side, you’ve already changed where the balance game is being played and they’re playing by your rules. That’s 2 birds, 1 stone.
I would think this one is very dependent on the height and weight match up of the two people. That said, if a person drops grabs hold and drops down, if they don’t bring their opponent down, they’ve given up a lot. I still think it’s a great tool for the toolbox, but only if you know the limitations of it as they pertain to you.

Nice takedown if someone has a strong shirt that won’t stretch/rip. Where do you grab if that isn’t the case?
Overhook / underhook.
Good thing his opponent is wearing clothing to grip. Wonder how it’s modified for no Gi?
Over/ under perhaps?
Trav, I don’t know if I’m a fan. It looks like, in practice, someone may end up on top of you to continue pounding your face.
Very cool. Is there a no gi version, though?
But how do i execute this when the opponent not wearing a kimono (this jiu jitsu outfit)

Are you ever going to get in so close to an assailant in practice? Scary!
