  1. Yeah that victim had no business being close to that attacker. His friend had mad head movement so in this situation, if you had a kid or family with you, you’d want to get your wife to grab the kids and retreat behind you and your head movement buddy.
If you are alone with your fam, I’d do the same thing, just get the wife to grab the kids, and retreat behind me, while I also retreat while also facing the enemy.
Looks like the bad dudes were wanting to walk off but the head movement guy kept wanting to fight them, so he was the one in the wrong here to start with. He literally got his buddy in fatal danger.
BUT of course knowing how to defend against knife attacks is the best augmentation to retreating intelligently. So I do recommend buying this course if possible. I bought the head movement course and it was great. Felt like getting premium instruction from a boxing coach for a fraction of the cost.

    • Likely bigger guys the aggressors from start, and smaller guy pulled knife in self defense, listen to audio.

  2. I have two DVDs about Russian military knife fighting techniques. Holy poop. The more I learn about knife fighting. The more I want to know more so I can defend myself against all if various ways a knife can be used. And I am a trained fighter. Yet no one can learn enough about knife fishing. I mean knife fighting. Oh yes. More respect for the knife and how dangerous it can be. Just too deadly. Esp. For untrained people. I would suggest to anyone reading this. Learn all you can because you will never know when that special moment is before your eyes and you may have to fight for your life on planet earth. And I own a gun which would help too.

    • Local Tae Kwon Do used to teach his atudents that a guy with a knife was more a danger to himself than others.
I put his student to the test with the old “red marker” sparring technique, and his much painted student wised up very quickly. Sadly instructor didnt, insisting that I cheated…

  3. This is a knife fight they could have retreated from.. The others were backing off and the aggressor wasn’t the one holding the knife. This was a case of everyone thinking they were all that and finding out otherwise

  4. Trav great stuff…one of the things that I see in many “knife defense” courses is neglecting to recognize the violent return of the knife back to the attacker after the initial attack. Meaning, the techniques I’ve seen have the attacker “putting the knife out there” for the defender to grab the wrist, etc. As I’d the attacker will just allow you to do so.

  5. Just an observation as a long time Paramedic/ER RN- The imbecile actually did a relatively good job of controlling the bleeding by applying direct pressure to what appears to be his carotid artery. If he had real friends, one of them could have applied a tourniquet tightly around his neck. It might have bought him another 5 seconds of regret. Just saying…keep up the good work!

  6. Wow, terrible idea from this big guy who is probably used to scare people thanks to his muscles… The criminal with the knife is obviously dangerous, they’re were backing of, why not just let them move back. Peace.
So I hope you’ll make money out of this guy’s death, hopefully save some lives with your training, and maybe send his family something ?

  7. Thanks Trav! That’s a surreal video, I’m so glad I bought your knife course. I hope I never need it
But my family might need a hero one day, enter Bat Dad!

  8. Many people by their actions show that they care more for their ego than for their health and safety and overall life.
Those who know better will be wise in choosing the situations they allow themselves and their loved ones to be put into and they will be careful with their interactions with strangers to try and avoid angering someone who may be ignorant and prone to violence.

I appreciate the lesson Trav. Reminds me of drivers Ed when I was 15. This old dude made us watch bloody gory vhs tapes of car and motorcycle accidents each class for 15 minutes. Gross and disturbing but to this day I look both ways before accelerating when the light turns green. This has saved my ass many times due to a-holes running the red.

I am thankful to that old crotchety man and I’m grateful to you buddy for your fight school.

    Cheers!
