I didn't know what a vambrace was until I Googled: "What do you call armor called that protects your forearm?"
I learned a new word and naturally assumed that no one else on the planet had ever heard of it... which makes it an intriguing subject line.
Some people kick so hard that it's kinda scary to even block it.
They jolt your upper arm into the shoulder socket hard enough to hurt your armpits...
it's actually hurt my neck before... though admittedly, I have crippled myself by sneezing.
Even if you've built the reactive skill to instinctively react and block the strike as such:
You still need to have the forearm hardening required to handle it.
Otherwise, a good kicker can literally take away your ability to make a fist.
A fist is a bad weapon to lose.
Interestingly enough...
The girl from todays video has achieved a level of forearm hardening that injures people.
(She also folds a metal sign post with her shin bone... o.O)
Perhaps her training partners are acting... we can't be sure.
Perhaps nothing will top the guy from last week bending a damn crescent wrench...
But impact like this would decimate a 'hobbyist' Muay Thai fighter.
His kicks would stop.
Hey... don't forget to condition your forearms! They're clubs that you can't put down.

(That gets done mainly by sparring.)
(as do most things in the world of real martial arts.)
Have a great weekend.
