Behold...

the power of fat guys.

[kmfblbtns blayout="button_count"]

Tonight Andy Ruiz fights Anthony Joshua in an effort to retain his WBO championship belt.  Here's a picture of the champ, Andy Ruiz:

He looks kinda like how Disney draws fat people.

And yet, he is the WBO champ after defeating an absolutely herculean Anthony Joshua... (tonights fight is a rematch)

The first video on this page shows an incredible round of boxing between these two guys, in which Andy Ruiz is dropped by a nasty hook, but shows no signs of damage as he fires back some brain-smashing strikes of his own.

(If you scroll down on the same page, you'll see the final round of the fight, in a semi-decent cell phone video.)

Simply awesome.

I think that most of us love an underdog story, because it makes us feel like we're 20 salads and a few heavy bag rounds away from being champions ourselves.

This is obviously preposterous, but can't help but enjoy when people with abs get knocked out.

Sure.  I'm a hater.  Still love it.

In truth, I've been following Andy Ruiz for a long time.  His skill has been forged with inspirationally hard work... and the guy also has an amazing chin.

If you scroll further down on the same page, you can see him repeatedly working a very fast jab-counter-counter.

(Ruiz jabs, slips the counter, and fires a counter of his own).

His speed for a husky man is unbelievable.  You should drill this sequence 100 times this week.

Finally, just for fun, I grabbed a quick highlight reel for a fighter named Ismael Lazaar... a kickboxer who also has a spare tire around his waist (also at the bottom of the same page)

It would appear that his opponents underestimate him as a result, and they pay the ultimate price.

The guy's belly actually gets in the way of his own attempts at throwing knees.  It's sorta funny... and yet, I'd never laugh at him.

Tonight, I will be rooting for the huskiest of champions, and I hope you will join me in doing so.

Have a fantastic weekend!
