Well, it's a new year, and most of us are considerably fatter than we were in August... unless you have somehow completely defied human nature.
If so, I tip my eggnog to you.
Most of us have some work ahead, but if you have resolved to do it, I want to share some great info with you regarding CARDIO.
#1. You need to distinguish between building a healthier heart, and improving your peripheral muscles ability to work more efficiently.
On this page, Pavel Tsatsouline shares some amazing knowledge on HOW cardio works to improve your endurance, and some of the mechanisms that you can use to have a huge advantage in this realm.
He'll touch on the benefits of steady state vs. HIIT cardio, and even introduce the concept of mitochondrial health.
In order words, how do you make the 'powerhouse of your cell' make even more power?
It's a realm of research that's relevant to every human on the planet.
#2. If your goal is to burn fat, DON'T BE OUT OF BREATH.
Pavel describes 'steady state' exercise as having the ability to have a conversation during the cardio.
If you try to spit out a few sentences, but just stutter and stammer, you're going too hard... and you are no longer burning fat effectively, but instead burning far more muscle glycogen.
(This is something that I talk about extensively in the Fat Burn Manifesto... which is only available in my subscription coaching group: The Virtual Dojo. Muah ha ha haaaaa. (email me if you're interested))
Fat burn = AEROBIC CARDIO
#3. And final tip... fasted exercise burns more fat.
Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying... and there's a ton of misinformation about this particular topic.
I shall leave you with this paper
...and just remind you that I tend to not make claims unless they are backed with demonstrable science.
...or demonstrable savagery.
Have a fantastic weekend!
We shall dominate this new year.
